Small business advice personalized for those who are new to business
Do you have a love and hate relationship with social media? Perhaps you love it when it’s good, hate it when it’s bad. You love using it to connect with friends, but hate “all the fake” you regularly see. Maybe you love consuming it yourself, but the thought of having to actually make your own posts (or show your own face, gasp!) on social media has you paralyzed. “I want to run my business, but I don’t want anything to do with social media.” Does that sound familiar? For a myriad of different reasons, social media can be a big hangup for new business owners. So you might even be asking yourself if it’s really even needed. Here’s three reasons why you should plan on incorporating social media into your business. 1) Social Media Builds Brand AwarenessYour post on social media has the potential to go beyond your current audience and reach thousands (and sometimes even millions) of potential customers. You can also build brand awareness with your current audience just by showing up consistently in the place that your audience is hanging out. 2) Social Media Builds Brand TrustPeople buy from companies that they trust. Social media allows you to build that trust incrementally over time in a real tangible way. You can answer questions, provide transformation stories, and share testimonials all in a format that’s accessible to your audience. 3) Social Media Builds CommunitySocial media allows you to connect with your fans, followers, and customers in a way that creates a community. Your fans can interact with each other, all while supporting your brand and furthering your brand reach. And it is all free. A little known fact: business accounts (with real business insights) are completely free on all major social media accounts. You do not have to “pay to play”. You have to show up to play. In some things there are no participation trophies, but in social media there is. You do not have to be perfect to make an impact for your business. It doesn’t have to be fancy, expensive, or complicated. All you need is a little bit of a plan, a little bit of know how, and a little bit of gumption to give it your best effort. Easier said than done, right? If you’d like to do social media in a way that maintains your sanity and integrity, then you’re in the right place. I can help you develop a plan, become knowledgeable in what works TODAY in social media, and hype you up to do the darn thing. A couple of years ago I deleted all my social media accounts. They were such a time suck. Becoming an entrepreneur made me crawl right back..haha. Sad but true:)
